Content Areas

Hospitalists can access both live and online learning resources and tools based on the Hospital Medicine Core Competencies. With the growth of the hospital medicine specialty, education and training opportunities continue to expand for hospitalists. In addition to SHM's conferences, various organizations host CME events that are relevant to our membership. View Listing.

Growing Education

SHM regularly assesses the results and performance of our CME activities using prior year evaluations, independent expert panels, regular needs assessment surveys, and the hospital medicine core competencies.

We evaluate each CME activity based on participation rates, achievement of educational objectives, participant satisfaction, participant statement of knowledge enhancement, intention to improve patient care, and, where applicable, performance improvement.
